A Few Thoughts I Had While Learning to Ski in Tahoe

Is this right?  It just doesn't seem right...
P.S. I thought we were starting on the bunny slopes...
Why are we at the top of the mountain?!

I've totally got the hang of this skiing thing!
(As long as there is no decline whatsoever...)

Well, it's at least a beautiful day to tumble down a mountain...

"Come with me if you want to ski"
"No, really... we can't keep stopping so much"

Why no, every random person... I DO NOT need help getting up.
I am a pro at getting up.  It's staying up that I struggle with.

It's okay... I live here now.
I don't have the energy or the skill to make it down this freakin' mountain!

Besides I have this theory...
involving my husband and our life insurance policy...
Maybe I could just slide down to those medics...
Wait! Is that the bottom?!
It seems sooooo far away!
But at least there is an end to this frustration.
Maybe I can suck it up a little longer...

  1. I haven't skied since I was in high school, and I definitely wasn't very good at it! I was really afraid that I was going to hit a tree at high speeds because I couldn't grasp that whole slowing down thing. And that was in Galena! So kudos to you for going to an ACTUAL mountain to ski!

    1. It was rough...very rough, Liz... But thank you for the support! I don't know if I would ever do it again, but it was a good experience and I learned a lot about myself.
