Week 25: Channeling Bob Ross, Part Deux: Fun with Friends

My friend, Jaclyn, and I recently attended a group painting class where we were given step-by-step instructions on how to complete the following work of art.

What the finished product is supposed to look like

Amusing disclaimer about their expectations that we act like civilized human beings.

The painting guidelines were sketched out for us ahead of time.

Our finished works of art.
Here are our beautiful works of art.

Life lessons learned throughout this experience:
 1.  It is possible to drink wine and paint at the same time--without spilling either.

2.  What the instructor says and what she actually does are two entirely different things; if you want your picture to look remotely like hers, you have to WATCH everything she does.

3.  It's difficult to keep the colors separate on those paper plates.  A woman behind us somehow mixed her green paint into every single color on her palette.

4.  Birds are really hard to paint.  I ended up with penguins, while a woman behind us (quite possibly the green paint lady) painted pterodactyls.

5.  Sometimes you just have to do your own thing.  A woman sitting catty-corner from me had windmills and a sun in her picture.  Do whatever makes you happy.

Week 26:  A Chip of a Different Flavor

  1. Those paintings are BEAUTIFUL! Lovely work, ladies!

  2. Nice work! I'd hang them in my living room for sure!
